Doctors removed an 11cm parasitic worm, identified as Dirofilaria repens, from a 26-year-old woman’s eyelid after it burrowed into her forehead for a month. The woman sought medical help when a lesion migrated to her left eye, prompting a surgical extraction. The worm, typically affecting animals like dogs, is transmitted to humans via mosquito bites, leading to various symptoms depending on its location. Fortunately, the woman reported no further physical symptoms after the removal.
