World’s ‘warmongers’ must end disdain for global order, UN chief insists

On the opening day of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the Secretary-General criticized warmongers for violating international law and humanitarian principles, particularly highlighting the devastation in Ukraine. He called for an end to conflicts and the establishment of lasting peace in line with international law. The Council also addressed rising intolerance towards vulnerable groups and the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of upholding human rights and international cooperation in the face of ongoing challenges.
