A “lie flat” contest in Batou, Inner Mongolia, saw 240 participants competing to be crowned the “world’s laziest man.” Contestants were prohibited from sitting up or leaving their mattresses for over 33 hours, with many utilizing diapers and bringing supplies to maximize their time. The event, organized by a home-furnishings brand, concluded with a champion who lasted 33 hours and 35 minutes, winning CNY 3,000 (£323). Future competitions are planned in other Inner Mongolia cities.
