The COP30 climate conference in Belem, Brazil, concluded with an agreement urging countries to accelerate climate action but did not endorse a fossil fuel phase-out. The deal includes a call for developed nations to triple funding for climate adaptation in poorer countries. While some leaders expressed disappointment over the lack of stronger commitments, others viewed the agreement as a step forward in addressing climate change. COP30 President Andre Aranha Correa do Lago pledged to create roadmaps for transitioning away from fossil fuels and halting deforestation.
