Gary Price, Clerk of Works at Salisbury Cathedral, bravely scaled the UK’s tallest church spire to change its lightbulbs from over 400ft in the air. After climbing 332 steps and ascending medieval ladders to the roof, he reached the “weather door” and ultimately scaled the final 30ft on the outside of the spire using metal rungs. Gary and his team enjoyed a breathtaking view of the city while completing the task, with Gary expressing his excitement and privilege in performing this duty every few years.
