In celebration of the 115th International Women’s Day, MoneyWeek reflects on the changes in women’s financial rights over the years, from gaining the ability to open bank accounts in their own name in 1975 to the Equal Pay Act in 1970 ensuring fair pay. Despite progress, women still face challenges such as the gender pay gap, pension disparities, and job insecurity during maternity leave, with up to 74,000 women losing their jobs annually.
