A woman named Hakyung Lee is on trial in New Zealand for the murder of her two children, whose remains were found in suitcases in 2022 after being missing since June 2018. Lee, representing herself and denying the charges, was extradited from South Korea, where she had changed her name, following her husband’s death in 2017; her trial is expected to last four weeks, with 40 witnesses set to testify.
