Heavy rains and high winds have flooded thousands of tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, with hundreds seeking refuge amid the remnants of destroyed buildings in Gaza City. Civil Defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal warned of the risk of collapse for thousands of partially destroyed buildings, posing a grave danger to those without shelter. Mayor Mazen al-Najjar highlighted the catastrophic conditions facing displaced people in Jabalia and the northern Gaza Strip, urging urgent international action for temporary relief, safe camps, and infrastructure rehabilitation. Despite a ceasefire in effect, living conditions in Gaza remain dire, with Israel limiting aid truck entry and violating humanitarian protocols.
