States sue Trump over ‘existential threat’ to wind energy

The District of Columbia and 17 states, including New York and California, have sued the Trump administration for halting wind energy developments through a presidential memorandum. The states claim this action undermines their efforts to reduce pollution and provide affordable electricity, jeopardizing billions in investments related to wind energy infrastructure. They argue that the administration’s sudden reversal of policies and the directive’s “existential threat” to the industry violate the Administrative Procedure Act, as it impedes existing environmental regulations and approved projects.
