Wildfires fueled by strong winds have ravaged parts of South Korea’s southern regions, resulting in at least 24 deaths, over 200 structures destroyed, and 27,000 evacuations. The fires, which began last Friday, have consumed 43,330 acres of land, including an ancient Buddhist temple, and injured over 20 people. The ongoing blazes, described as the third-largest in South Korea’s history, have prompted evacuations, raised the wildfire warning nationwide, and led to suspicions of human error as a cause.
