Wiarton Willie predicted an early spring after not seeing his shadow on Groundhog Day in Wiarton, Ont., while other weather-prognosticating animals forecasted six more weeks of winter. Despite heavy snowfall, the town of Wiarton celebrated with various activities during their annual festival, with Mayor Jay Kirkland hoping for an early spring.
