US Homeland Security shutdown raises concerns about airport delays

Since February 14, a partial government shutdown has impacted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), primarily affecting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at airports. The standoff between Democrats and Republicans centers on immigration policy reforms sought by Democrats, which Republicans have deemed unacceptable. As a result, TSA employees have missed paychecks, leading to staffing shortages and longer wait times at airports, while the shutdown continues to stall funding efforts for the DHS.
