Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistan’s military announced potential sales of its JF-17 Thunder fighter jet following meetings between Air Chief Marshals from Pakistan and Bangladesh, with discussions also including the fast-tracked delivery of Super Mushshak trainer aircraft. Meanwhile, talks are ongoing with Saudi Arabia to convert $2bn of loans into a JF-17 deal, and Pakistan reportedly secured a $4bn agreement with Libya for the jets. The JF-17, a joint venture with China, is gaining interest due to its affordability and enhanced reputation following recent conflicts, particularly against India. The aircraft, first introduced in 2009 and most advanced in the Block 3 variant since 2020, is seen as a vital upgrade for various air forces.
