Bosnia sending troops to Gaza for peacekeeping mission

Last week, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s tripartite presidency approved Bosnian troops’ participation in an international stabilisation mission in Gaza, a rare instance of interethnic consensus since the Bosnian War. The mission, authorised by a UN Security Council resolution based on Donald Trump’s plan, supports Israel and aims to oversee demilitarisation. Despite Bosnian citizens’ overwhelming solidarity with Palestine, the decision reflects the country’s dysfunctional governance system and history of contributing troops to international missions.
