During take-off and landing, it is recommended to keep seats upright for safety reasons, as reclined seats can hinder quick evacuation in emergencies. Dimming the cabin lights during these critical times is also essential, as it helps passengers adjust to sudden darkness in case of an emergency evacuation, enables better visibility of exit signs, and reduces stress on the plane’s engine. Additionally, bright lights are used during lightning storms to prevent flash-blinding and allow pilots to utilize outside cues effectively.
