Cilia Flores: Venezuela’s First Lady

On January 3, the US Delta Force abducted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from Caracas, amid violent attacks that left at least 40 dead. Flores, a lawyer and key figure in the Chavismo movement, has held significant political roles, including being Venezuela’s attorney general. Both face serious charges in New York, including drug trafficking and conspiracy. Flores has been accused of accepting bribes and was previously sanctioned for her involvement in the Maduro regime’s alleged crimes against humanity.
