Westmount mayor hopes allowing highrises will spur development

Westmount Mayor Christina Smith is encouraging residents to consider a proposal for redevelopment in the city’s southeast sector, which involves allowing taller buildings north of Dorchester Blvd. and constructing highrises along Ste-Catherine St. Smith hopes that residents will approach the plan with an open mind and weigh the potential benefits of the increased height allowances in the area.
