Werder defender out for the remainder of the season

Werder Bremen will be without defender Julian Malatini for the rest of the season due to a syndesmosis ligament tear in his ankle, sustained during a 2-0 loss to Mainz. Head coach Daniel Thioune expressed disappointment for both the team and Malatini, who had been regaining form, stating they will support him through his recovery. Malatini has made 11 appearances for Werder this season.
