A new public sculpture resembling a giant poo emoji, the Periwinkle Shelter, was unveiled at Earnley Viewpoint in Medmerry Nature Reserve near Chichester, designed by Two Circles Design. Visitors have criticized the 4.5-meter sculpture as a waste of taxpayers’ money, with some finding it humorous but inappropriate given the amount spent on public art. The sculpture, made of Sussex willow, aims to reflect the site’s historical significance and was funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and administered by Chichester District Council.
