Two Second Cup café locations at Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital have been closed after the franchise owner, Mai Abdulhadi, was filmed making Nazi references at a pro-Palestinian protest. The CEO of Foodtastic, the owner of Second Cup, confirmed the news and stated that they cannot tolerate such behavior. Abdulhadi was recorded giving the Nazi salute and making threatening remarks towards pro-Israel counter-protesters.
