Parks and the Katzie First Nation have completed the Red Slough restoration project in the Upper Pitt River, restoring salmon habitat that had been impacted by logging road construction a century ago. The project included restoring water flow and protecting 733 acres in the watershed, with funding from various organizations. The success of the project is crucial for the salmon population, which faces threats from overfishing, industry, and climate change.
