In Washington State, a lorry carrying about 70,000lb of beehives overturned, resulting in the escape of approximately 250 million bees. Authorities have warned locals to avoid the area due to the risk of swarming and advised those allergic to bee stings to seek health guidance. Emergency services and local beekeepers are working to recover the bees, with hopes that most will return to their hives within a couple of days, while Weidkamp Road remains closed until the rescue operation is complete.
