Tom Edwards, an Albany product, has signed a one-year contract extension with Essendon, ensuring his place in the team until 2026 after suffering a ruptured ACL that ended his 2025 season. The 24-year-old forward was recruited following an impressive WAFL record of 109 goals in 66 games and made his AFL debut this year, scoring three goals in his first match. Edwards expressed motivation from the contract extension to recover and prepare for a strong return in the 2026 season, which has the Bombers excited about his potential development.
