Volkswagen’s Scout Motors reveals first EVs, plans for plug-in hybrids

Scout Motors, a Volkswagen-backed brand, unveiled its first electric vehicles, including a full-size pickup truck and large SUV, with plans to expand into plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The company aims to be profitable within a year of production at its South Carolina plant, offering vehicles with over 500 miles of range and modern designs that pay homage to the original Scout vehicles. Scout plans to sell directly to consumers, targeting a competitive market with lower pricing and brand appeal, while considering future product expansions.
