Portions of Highway 47, including the Vincent Thomas Bridge, remained closed on Friday due to a big rig crash involving lithium batteries in San Pedro, which caused a fire. The closure extended from Harbor Boulevard in Los Angeles to the juncture of Highway 103 in Long Beach, with the possibility of it continuing into Saturday as fire crews worked on the scene. The big rig was still located near the bridge on Friday morning, according to KTLA-5.
