Tens of thousands of people gather in Hanoi to celebrate declaration of independence from French colonial rule.

Vietnam celebrated the 80th anniversary of its independence from France with a large military parade in Hanoi, featuring nearly 16,000 soldiers and military displays. During the event, Communist Party leader To Lam honored those who fought for independence and announced plans for national prosperity by 2045, alongside issuing funds to citizens and releasing thousands of prisoners.
