Despite facing imprisonment, he received an 11-month home detention sentence, must pay for damaging the victim’s phone, and is subject to an alcohol interlock and zero alcohol licence for a drink driving charge.

Child dies at Lower Hutt play park after water incident
A child has tragically died after a water-related incident at Motutawa Avalon Park in Lower Hutt, as reported by the police. The incident occurred on Saturday evening when the child was found unresponsive in a body of water and despite CPR efforts, they could not be resuscitated.
