A 27-year-old van driver, Christopher Jackson, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for causing the death of university student Aalia Mahomed and seriously injuring two others in London. The incident occurred when Jackson drove through iron gates into a pedestrian zone, striking Mahomed as she sat on a bench. He pleaded guilty to causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving. Jackson will also face a five-year driving ban upon release.
