Aalia Mahomed, a 20-year-old King’s College London student, was killed in a collision involving a van on March 18, while two other pedestrians were injured. Christopher Jackson, 27, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and will appear in court on January 5. Mahomed’s family described her as a “bright, kind and beautiful soul,” and they are raising funds to build a high school in Malawi in her honor, named Be More Aalia. A memorial was held where her mother received a posthumous honorary degree certificate.
