Here’s how the US’s new Golden Dome will work – and tackle its greatest threats

Earlier this week, Donald Trump unveiled the ‘Golden Dome,’ a $175 billion missile defense system designed to compete with Israel’s ‘Iron Dome.’ This system aims to detect and neutralize missile threats from countries like China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea at various stages of an attack, utilizing ground and space-based technologies. Although the Pentagon is still developing the system’s requirements, Trump promoted its capabilities during a press conference, highlighting its role in protecting the U.S. homeland against increasing missile threats.
