U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer affirmed that the White House will uphold its trade agreements despite a Supreme Court ruling limiting President Trump’s tariff authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. Greer stated that existing tariffs will remain in place and that the administration plans to impose new tariffs under Section 122, albeit with restrictions. European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde warned that the ruling could disrupt trade and investment, impacting businesses and consumers. Greer also mentioned bipartisan opposition in Congress regarding the administration’s tariff policy.
