The Supreme Court is likely to hear oral arguments early next year, with a ruling in June on a matter that has been blocked by several lower courts as being unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court will decide on the legality of President Trump’s executive order to end birthright citizenship, which has faced multiple lower court challenges as unconstitutional. The order, which targeted children of undocumented immigrants, was deemed a violation of the 14th Amendment. With a conservative majority in the court, a ruling is expected by June, following oral arguments early next year. Advocates hope the court will uphold constitutional protections established for over 150 years.
