On Monday, a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet, valued over $60 million, fell overboard from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier while being towed, with both the aircraft and tow tractor sinking in the Red Sea. Two crew members managed to jump out before the fall, and one sailor sustained a minor injury; however, the Truman Carrier Strike Group remains fully mission capable. An investigation is underway to determine the cause, amid claims from the Iran-backed Houthis of launching a missile and drone attack that may have contributed to the incident.
