US election candidate in hot water as video shows him joking about IRA and ‘hating the British’

A 2023 video by YouTuber-turned-politician Brandon Herrera, running against GOP rep Tony Gonzales in the primary runoff election, was unearthed by The Daily Beast.

Mr Gonzales represents Texas’ 23rd district, where a 2022 elementary school shooting occurred, leading him to vote in favor of gun-control legislation and be censured by his party last year.

The shooting in Uvalde left 19 students and two staff members dead, sparking controversy and a political showdown between Herrera and Gonzales in the upcoming election.
