Takeshi Ebisawa, a member of Japan’s yakuza crime group, was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a New York court for trafficking nuclear material, drugs, and weapons. Ebisawa, 61, was arrested in April 2022 during a DEA sting operation and was found to have attempted to sell military-grade plutonium and large quantities of narcotics. He pleaded guilty to six charges, including conspiracy to sell 500 kilograms of heroin and methamphetamine.
