Urgent ‘stay at home’ warning issued as violent diarrhoea bug cases surge

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a warning about a surge in norovirus cases, with a 31.6% increase reported between November 4 and 17 compared to the previous fortnight. The agency is urging those with symptoms to stay at home, wash hands with soap and water, and clean surfaces with bleach-based products to prevent further spread. Norovirus outbreaks in hospitals have also increased, and experts believe the actual number of cases could be much higher than reported.
