Campaigners are urging urgent action to protect Black, minoritised, and migrant (BMM) women from fatal domestic abuse, highlighting that a quarter of female domestic homicide victims from 2020 to 2024 were BMM. Bereaved families cite systemic failings in the justice system, particularly within police responses, as contributing factors to these tragedies. A report shows that many BMM women face barriers when seeking help, often leading to inadequate investigations. In response, political leaders have acknowledged the issue, with plans for a new strategy to address violence against women and girls.
