The UN refugee agency, UNHCR, predicts that 600,000 people may be displaced in the next six months due to the lack of basic services in Syria after years of civil conflict. A recent survey showed that over half of households plan to return to their areas of origin within the next year, with strong intentions particularly in Idleb. IOM reports that around 750,000 IDPs have already returned to Syria since November 2024, but seven million remain displaced, with many facing harsh living conditions in tents or damaged buildings.
