UNESCO Global Geoparks
UNESCO Global Geoparks are unique areas recognized for their significant geological features that illustrate Earth’s history. They undergo a revalidation process every four years, and currently, three out of five Canadian geoparks—part of a global network of only 229—have been advised to make improvements.
