Ofcom has fined 4chan £20,000 ($26,700) for non-compliance with requests under the UK’s Online Safety Act, marking the first penalty issued under the new law aimed at protecting children from harmful online content. The regulator’s investigation revealed 4chan’s refusal to provide a risk assessment and revenue details, prompting an additional daily fine of £100 ($133) until compliance is achieved.
