England’s population is projected to grow the fastest at 7.8%, followed by Wales at 5.9%, Scotland at 4.4%, and Northern Ireland at 2.1% in the same period. Looking further ahead, the UK population is estimated to grow by 8.9 million by mid-2047, a 13.2% increase, with births and deaths expected to balance out with around 6.8 million each.
