According to new population projection statistics from the Office of National Statistics (ONS), the UK is expected to grow by 7.3 percent in the decade leading up to 2032, with a net increase of 4.9 million people driven entirely by migration, as deaths are projected to match births. The UK’s fertility rate is anticipated to hit a low of 1.41 per woman in 2027 and remain at that level for nearly ten years, leading to a projected population of over 70 million by 2027 and 75 million by 2042.
