United Nations report says global cocaine trade thriving, with 25 million users around the world in 2023.

Border authorities in the UK seized 2.4 tonnes of cocaine worth $132 million from a ship arriving from Panama, marking one of the largest hauls on record as cocaine-related deaths in England and Wales rose by 31% from 2022 to 2023; the UNODC reported that global cocaine users reached 25 million in 2023, driven by increasing production in Colombia and rising demand in Europe and the Americas.
