Sgt. Jacob M. Durham, a 22-year-old U.S. Marine from Long Beach, California, was one of four people killed in a plane crash in the Philippines while conducting a routine mission for the U.S. military. The cause of the crash is under investigation, with three defense contractors also losing their lives. Durham, an electronic intelligence/electromagnetic warfare analyst, joined the Marines in January 2021 and was highly respected by his peers for his composure, intelligence, and selfless leadership.
