Two REM trains hit "system failure" at Central Station, causing partial line shutdown

Two REM trains experienced breakdowns in different directions at Central Station, causing a major blockage before rush hour on the light rail system connecting downtown Montreal and the South Shore. Full service resumed around 5:50 p.m. Employees had to guide trains to a stop and passengers off, with shuttle buses being deployed between Central Station and Panama station for affected riders.
