The Mangaluru police intercepted a vehicle in the city and rescued 20 heads of cattle that were being inhumanly and illegally transported to a slaughterhouse on March 28, 2025. The cattle were found tied to the roof of the vehicle in an inhumane manner, with two of them dead and the rest receiving treatment. The suspected individuals involved in the transportation were identified, and a case was registered at Bajpe Police Station, although there was no visible evidence of firearm use during the incident.
