Turkey's president arrives in Pakistan's capital on a 2-day visit to boost trade, economic ties

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad with a high-level delegation to discuss boosting trade and economic ties with Pakistan. He was received by Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with plans to chair the 7th Session of the Pakistan-Turkiye High Level Strategic Cooperation Council and sign agreements. Security measures have been increased due to recent militant violence in Pakistan, coinciding with a U.S. Embassy travel advisory warning against visiting the Faisal mosque in Islamabad.
