Turkey to bury activist shot in West Bank

Mourners will gather in southwest Turkey Saturday for the funeral of US-Turkish activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, who was shot dead while protesting Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The killing has caused international condemnation and heightened tensions over the war in Gaza, which started with Hamas’s attack on Israel. Eygi’s body, draped in the Turkish flag, was laid to rest in the Aegean town of Didim, following the tragic events that have outraged Turkey.
