Both countries’ negotiating teams will start ‘immediately’ to address US tariffs and sanctions, says Brazil’s President Lula.
In a constructive meeting at the ASEAN Summit, US President Trump and Brazil’s President Lula agreed to have their teams immediately tackle the significant tariffs and sanctions affecting Brazil, which Lula previously called a “mistake.” Brazilian Foreign Minister Vieira indicated hopes to conclude negotiations in weeks, while discussions of mediating US-Venezuela tensions were also raised.
