Ahead of the 2026 Baseball Hall of Fame’s Contemporary Era Class announcement, President Trump urged the committee to induct pitcher Roger Clemens, citing his impressive statistics, including 354 career wins and seven Cy Young awards. Clemens, who has denied using performance-enhancing drugs, was acquitted of related charges in 2012. Despite being on the ballot for ten years without election, he is now eligible under the new contemporary ballot rules. The committee, meeting Sunday in Orlando, requires 75% approval for induction, with results announced in July.
